A translucent, doubly-terminated quartz crystal acts as the host to dark rutile needle inclusions. The faces of the crystal have a glossy luster. The overall dimensions for this piece are 16 cm wide by 11 cm tall by 6.1 cm front to back. The locality for the specimen is North Fork American River, Forest Hill, Placer County, California. There is some chipping at the terminations.
